Ten on Tuesday

I am in quite a humor this evening so be prepared for a rant. Don't say I didn't warn you.

10 Reasons Why It Sucks to be a Single Mother:

  1. Too much laundry.
  2. Too many dishes.
  3. Never enough money.
  4. Never enough time.
  5. Half the guys you date run screaming when you tell them you still have kids at home.
  6. Ultimately, the only person responsible for the housework is you, even if you delegate.
  7. You are never, ever alone. Even in the middle of the night.
  8. Your children interrupt everything.
  9. You are always "on call".
  10. You never, ever have any time for anything you like to do. The TV, the computer, every room, every inch of your house, every minute of your life is completely dominated by the younger people you made a committment to raise.

God, I need some time away.

I suspect the opposite of a single mother is a double mother.

You would not want twice as much to do.

So count your blessings. ;-)

Is that all? LOL

Kidding .. I'm kidding ... I kid because I care. ;-)

Hey number 3 doesn't count cause none of us ever have enough money.

Anyway bless your single mommy heart...and could you do a load of laundry for me? :)

Thanks everyone. I am fine now. I was just in a bad mood because sometimes my children are just TOO demanding and intrusive. I'm fine now.

And I should add a disclaimer to #5: I am lucky to have a guy who DIDN'T run when he found out I had kids, even when he found out there were 4 of them! (smile)

I'm sure it can be overwhelming at times... but don't you just love it anyway?

Honey, it can be overwhelming with ONE. You have FOUR! Definitely make some time for yourself away from being Mom. It is necessary for your sanity (that's right, believe the crazy woman...).

Before you know it, J, there will be grandkids. And you'll wonder how the last 20 years flew by so fast, cos they sure as hell weren't going that fast as you were living them. And the great thing about grandkids is you get to give them back to their parents at the end of the day. (unless they live with you) ;-)

I'm so glad your feeling better...but lets not gloss over this doing my laundry thing. he he he :-)

Brother Dave - I can not even begin to imagine what "double" the work would be. Thanks for the laugh.

Jay - You had better be kidding. I am a force to be reckoned with when I'm in THAT kind of mood.

Truckindog - Yeah, but MY money is split 5 ways, not two like yours. And hell no, I will not do your laundry. Do your own damn laundry.

R.E.H. - I DO love it most of the time. Just not last night.

Sayre - I believe you. And I have Friday all to myself - with Steven.

E.Craig - Oh please, no grandkids for awhile. I still have an 8 year old at home. I'm not ready......(whining).
