And the Earth moved...........

Men and Coffee

Okay, I don't know what the men and coffee graphic has to do with anything, I just thought it was funny. At least I've 2 out of 3 in Steven...and although he isn't rich, he is very generous. And he loves coffee! What more could you want?

We had an earthquake this morning. Can you believe that? Actually, the earthquake was in Illinois, about 150 miles from Louisville, but we sure felt it. I was laying in bed and it moved! Everything moved, for about 2 minutes, which I know isn't long, but it seemed long when everthing is shaking. I thought I was crazy, until I heard it on the radio on the way to school. THEN we had a 30 second aftershock in the middle of the morning at school. It was too weird. I mean, I know earthquakes happen, but not in Indiana!

I am taking another road trip, this one a mini one. Steven will be heading through Illinois toward Chicago, and I am meeting him in Springfield for an overnight. What can I say? I miss him!

Have a good weekend, all. I will catch up with you all on Sunday.

J.

I read about this on the internet this morning. Glad to hear everything is alright.

They said it could be felt as far south as Atlanta.

That's about 230 miles, as the crow flies. Sounds like about a 4 hour drive. Maybe less. Drive safely. Enjoy yourself.

ecraig: silly man. You can't drive a car as the Crow flies!
It's actually 289 miles by way of interstate.
I prefer J take the left lane, as oppposed to the airplane lane.
I know it sounds absurd, but have you ever tried to get a tower clearance to take off in a Ford?
It'll take half a day for the laughter to subside.

Oh, while I was in Co. Trying to take my place in the staging line on the tarmac, a dadburn 757 jumped in front of me.
The nerve, the gall, the mind altering turbulence from his exhaust taught me where I belong.
I'm still quaking in my seat from that lineup.
From now on, I'm only cutting in front of Delta planes!

J, I like the look of the new page.
But please give credit where credit is due.
I'm awake 20 / 24. Who know's what I'm doing those other four hours.
I do like coffee, but I'm a switch hitter these days.
I take my day half n half. Half coffee, half green tea.
Haaaaaaaaaaaah.
Yup, I'm a coffee / greenee

There was a small earthquake where I live too a number of years back. I think it is the only one in over 300 years... or something. That was weird.

You know - women are like coffee too: Hot and they taste good ;)

We apparently have earthquakes in Florida all the time. They're small and rarely felt because we're sitting on limestone - pretty much a big sponge. I can imagine that having an earthquake on more solid ground is a terrifying thing.

Don't make the earth move too much in Springfield, okay? Illinois may not recover.

That 4:30am earthquake woke my husband from a sound sleep...all the way here in Chicago! I didn't feel it and I didn't feel the aftershock at 10:15am, either.

RWA - I heard there was some damage in Louisville, but nothing huge. There was a big "to-do" over the aftershock later that morning.

Craig - Don't worry, I was careful on the way here and I will be on the way home. Pay no attention to my silly boyfriend and his "as the crow flies/drives" joke. He cracks himself up (hee, hee).

Trkndude - Your comments get sillier the later you stay up. XXOO!

R.E.H. -

Okay, I'm going to take your word on that.

Sayre - I'm not making any promises. Illinois is just going to get over it (hee, hee).

Eatmisery - I am amazed at who did and didn't feel it. It was the same with the aftershock - some felt it, some didn't. I'm glad I got to experience it, but it was a little unnerving at the time.

one of the best things about men and coffee is that at times, they can be intoxicating as well. :-)

been through a couple of earthquakes. none of which caused major damage but it sure does have an odd effect on a person doesn't it? glad to hear you and yours stayed safe.
