Why I LOVE Weekends, by Hoosier Girl

Each week, like most people, I like forward to the weekend. It gives me time to relax and "recharge my batteries". Here are my top 10 reasons why I LOVE my weekends:

1. Time to go to sporting events, like Daniel's first wrestling meet today.

He placed 5th in his weight class. He was really happy and I was very proud of him.

2. Sleeping in on Sunday mornings. We don't go to church until 11, so I can sleep much later than usual.

3. Church. I like the peace and tradition of Sunday mass.

4. Time for birthday parties. My nephew Tyler had his 2nd birthday last weekend.

5. Time to watch movies. I just got "Michael Clayton" and I can't wait to watch it. Who doesn't love a movie with George Clooney in it? (wink)

6. Visits from Steven, although no visit this weekend. (pout)

7. Time to catch up on cleaning and laundry so we are ready for the week. Okay, maybe I don't love doing this on the weekend, but it's much easier to get done then, and I like feeling "caught up".

8. Time to read a book. I just finished The Appeal by John Grisham, and now I'm reading Eat, Pray. Love: One Woman's Search for Everything across Italy, India, and Indonesia by Elizabeth Gilbert. Interesting reading, so far.

9. Time to cook for my family, like these delicious blueberry muffins:
I made them this morning.

10. Time to blog, both writing and reading! Yay! Note the "new" friends on the blogroll.

That's all for today's list. See ya back here tomorrow, same time, same bat channel.

I saw the Good German, starring Mr. Clooney, the other day. Lots of twists and turns and excellent cinematography, I thought. I haven't seen Michael Clayton, but would like to.

As for books, I'm presently reading The Idle Thoughts of An Idle Fellow. I'm sure there are those who would say it is the perfect title for me.

I love Blueberry Muffins!

I wish I did have a Truck Stop, with the price of fuel these days I'd be uber rich

I have Michael Clayton in my NetFlix Queue. Don't know if it's next or further down the list though.

I love weekends because generally, there is nowhere I have to be at any particular time. Well, except baseball practice, but that's reading time for me!!! Okay, reading time between anything that happens on the field. Guess I don't actually read that much at practice...

York - Oh now, don't be so hard on yourself - you don't seem so "idle" to me. I'm watching "Michael Clayton" right now, so I'll let you know.

Truckindog - I just had a craving for blueberry muffins this morning. And the kids really like it when I make something hot on Sunday mornings. Usually it's orange danish rolls or cinnamon rolls.

I hear what you're saying about owning a truck stop. Have you ever tried that "Idleair" thing? It looks pretty cool. I'm really surprised at how expensive everything at truckstops is. They really should treat truckers better!

Jay - I am watching Michael Clayton right now, so I'll let you know. The muffins were delish!

Sayre - I know what you mean about not reading while things are going on on the field...I took a book with me to the wrestling meet but I got so interested in watching the different wrestlers, I didn't read much!

Don't get me started J.
people think truckers have such an easy job and get paid so well but they dont think about how exspensive it is to live on the road or the 2 A.M. load or delivery times and and OK thats nuf said.

No I never tried that Idleair thing it was just getting started in a few Truck Stops when I left the long haul.

I remember when Travelcenters of America used to be Truckstops of America.
