I am so tired and so confused. Why does caring about anyone have to be so complicated? How do you turn feelings on and off? What do you do when you can't turn them off?
I know this post doesn't make sense. But all these mixed-up emotions are exactly why I swear I'm never going to date again. Until I get lonely. I don't know how to "take things slow". I don't know how to care about someone, and yet NOT care if I talk to him or not, not care if I see him or not. How are you connected and detached at the same time?
And what about old loves? Do you ever stop loving them? Or are they always part of who you are? How do you stop thinking about someone? Can anyone tell me how to turn my brain off? Please?
I need to go to bed. I'm so tired.....

You said the key word, J. "Tired" An anthill can look like a mountain when you're tired. Not that certain feelings, hopes and desires will disappear overnight, but we can handle such things when we are fresh and ready to take on the day.
I remember old loves, they always pop into my mind. Pleasant memories. Old loves are a part of who we are, just like so many of life's experiences.
I suppose it would be almost impossible to stop thinking of someone I was fixated on.
You say you don't know how to take things slow. So, perhaps you need to discipline yourself to do so. For your own mental well being. Bottom line ... I don't say I have answers, just thoughts and suggestions. Now ... get some sleep! :-)
It's Monday, all right. E.Craig hit the nail on the head. Operative word is "tired". Get some rest and things will feel better and not quite so desperate when you've gotten some shut-eye.
I hope you feel better in the morning. Life is always INTOLERABLE when I'm tired...
Slow down and breathe, girlfriend.

I am thinking that good rest will certainly help you not feel so concerned and help with your mixed thoughts. But, I do understand where you are coming from.
Realign your thoughts to some of the things that you do, just for yourself. It may help with not finding your thoughts solely on the person, especially if it is causing you some distraction or more importantly ~ stress.
Remind yourself that a real relationship is built on friendship first, and caution yourself to not move any faster than casual dating.
Remember that this thing called life is your "novel", and don't turn the page to the next chapter until you are ready.
Silver Willow's advice was most excellent. Focus on you and the rest will come. But it's hard to be patient, isn't it? ;-)
I'm glad you felt better after a rest. That alone can do a world of good.
awwwwwwwwww so sorry you were having a bad day...hope things got better as the week went on...
We surely all have these days..especially on Mondays...lol.
