Interview Me!

I (recklessly) volunteered to be interviewed by Lisa. If you have not visited this wonderful blog, you should. Her thoughts and photography are inspiring. Anyway, she was fairly kind to me. Here are her questions:

1. Do you live by routines?
Yes, unfortunately. I would much rather be a "live for the moment" kind of person, but instead I'm a list maker and a planner. With 4 kids, there is the "wake up" routine, the "school day" routine, the "bathtime" routine (mostly just for Aaron), the "bedtime" routine, the "run-around Saturday" routine, the "Sunday-morning-get-ready-for-church" routine.......sigh. And then of course, there are the daily routines at work. Ever feel a little like a hamster on a wheel?

2. What do you do while you are on the phone?
Well, it depends on who I am talking to. If it is someone important, nothing. I go somewhere private, like my room or the front porch, and give my full attention to him (or her). There is nothing I treasure more than a private, late night conversation with someone I care about. Just about anyone else, I watch TV, play on the computer, even drive. Actually, I drive and talk on the phone a lot. Now that I think about it, I have done A LOT of things while I'm on the phone. Hmmmmm.....

3. How much time do you spend reading each day?
Oh come on. This one is too easy. I'm a teacher. I read all damn day. I read the newspaper every day. And I read magazines or novels at night for pleasure. I truly love to read. I always have. It is a love I have given my children and I hope to give every student I have.

4. If you could afford it at this moment, what would you buy?
Big - a new house. We are too crowded in this one, the garage is falling down, and we only have one bathroom. And I long for more yard and more trees.
Small - an I-Pod. I really want one, but it seems like such a luxury with all the needs my family has. I want a red one, which you can only buy online. I would love one for Mother's Day, but I don't think it will happen. I always have to orchestrate my own Mother's Day gifts and I can't afford to give me one.

5. Have you ever bought a state lottery ticket?
Yes. I buy them every once in awhile, when the jackpot is big. And the man I used to date bought them regularly, so I bought them more when he and I were together. The best I've ever done is a whopping $20. Oh well.

DIRECTIONS FOR THE INTERVIEW MEME

1. Leave me a comment saying, “Interview me.”
2. I will respond by emailing you five questions. I get to pick the questions.(evil laugh)
3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

Anyone feeling daring?
J.

Wow ... that's a lot of routines.

Great answers to some really good questions.

Gotta remember to buy the lotto tickets. You can't win it if you're not in it! ;-)

Lisa beat me to it (I'm not surprised, however, as I have been so busy that I haven't even had time to post stuff to my own blog...).

However, once things settle down again, may I interview you too? I have some questions that Lisa didn't ask.

See, that wasn't too hard. One of them was even super-easy.

I think all mothers must have routines or perish!

I talk on the phone at work a lot so I don't talk on the phone much at home. Not lengthy conversations anyhow. I'm much better at typing.

I hope you can get an iPod. I love mine. You should have never told me that there is a red one...

You did a great job answering. Maybe I shouldn't have made it so easy! ;-)
