Way Behind.....

I can't believe I have posted since Tuesday! My gosh, what a week this has been! Okay, from the top:

WEDNESDAY: I'm the coach of the Quick Recall team at school. Don't be too impressed - we only won one game in the practice season. Anyway, my "assistant coach" (actually, my friend Rick who is the computer teacher) and I had a final practice and pizza party for the team. It was fun AND I was introduced to the unique experience that is the movie "High School Musical". Weird.

THURSDAY: Parent-Teacher Conferences!! This time I'm the parent. Much more fun. ******Daniel is doing awesome in school. He made "1st Honors" for the 3rd quarter - only one of two 8th graders to do so all year. "1st Honors" is an overall grade point average of 95% or higher. I am really impressed with him and so are his teachers.*********

Aaron got decent grades - much improved from last year. We have some things to work on, but overall a pretty good report. I have to constantly remind myself that Aaron is not his brothers and his sister. And he is a work in progress. But still, a good report card.

FRIDAY: Steven arrived Thursday night, after having been away for almost 3 weeks. I have to tell you all - it was so good to hold him in my arms again! I sure miss that guy when he's gone!

I took Friday off so we could go to the Mid-America Truck Show. I have a ton of pictures to show you. I got the autograph of one of the guys from "Ice Road Truckers" and the head guy from "Chrome Shop Mafia". AND I got to meet Aaron Tippin (country western singer), who was the main attraction at the concert that night. Steven was treated well at the Mercer Company booth (with free buffet for the drivers) and we saw a lot of interesting trucks.

Unfortunately, I got sick Friday afternoon. We know now that I probably had a severe sinus infection, but it sure felt like a migraine at the time. My head hurt worse than I can even begin to explain. I could barely talk and at times it brought tears to my eyes. We kept going for awhile but finally I just had to ask Steven to take me home. By the time we got back to my house, I just went straight to my bed to lay down. I took large amounts of pain reliever AND decongestant and Steven got me a cold cloth for my head. After finally falling asleep for a couple of hours, I felt better but still wiped out. Now I'm on antibiotics and nasal spray and decongestant. But instead of going to the concert, we spend Friday night with Steven playing nurse maid to me, watching "CSI Miami".

SATURDAY: What a busy day! Steven and my brother Tony went to get the washer and dryer from the far side of Louisville. I had "Mayor's Cup" competition all day for my Quick Recall team. We placed 4th, but they played well. We had my teenagers to run around, I ended up taking a nap in the car while Steven worked on his truck, and we spent the evening at home, and ultimately had a "difference of opinion". But the making up was the best part! (wink) But we did get a lot done. Unfortunately, the new dryer doesn't connect with my existing plugs so I have to get an electrician in sometime this week, but it is sure good to have 2 new (er) appliances, not to mention the basement much cleaner.

TODAY: Busy again. Steven had to leave for Texas. I hate to see him go. (sniff) Rachael and I took Joseph back to Bloomington. Rachael had never seen Joseph's dorm room, so we went up for awhile, then I took her on a driving tour of the campus. She is thinking about going to college there. I sure would like to have them both in the same place. Taking him back took most of the day. His birthday is Tuesday - I sure will miss being with him that day. But I guess that's part of growing up, right?

Anyway, the boys are with their dad in Indianapolis until Wednesday so it's just me and Rachael this week. I promise to post all my pictures ASAP.

Have a great week all.
J.

PS. Sorry I haven't been around to your blogs much the last few days. If you just read the whole post, you understand why I haven't had time. I plan on catching up this week, as soon as possible!!! (smile)

I hope you are feeling better. Two points:

Aaron will be the millionaire entrepreneur of the family.

It's good to see that you are growing up.

Question: Do Hoosier women wear shoes in the summer?

Get well, and do enjoy your new appliances.

Being busy is better than being bored. ;-)
