Saturday 9

Hey everyone......sorry I have been out of touch for the last few days. I actually started a post yesterday, but never got it finished. We are now in Texas, at Steven's parents' house. We will spend the weekend here, then I will fly home on Monday. I am working on a Flicker badge and the pictures from the trip, like this one which is me and Steven meeting "Sushiboy" and "Superwoman" in Salt Lake City. When I get home and things get back to "normal", I will have lots and lots of pics to share. I am having mixed feelings about Monday: I have missed my kids very much, especially Aaron, and I will be so glad to be back home in my own house and my own bed. But I have gotten so used to being with Steven every day. We will have been together for 17 days straight on Monday - I like having him around. And we have gotten along very well - only one minor and one major fight (more on that one later), but mostly lots of laughing and traveling and talking and kissing and fun. (sigh) I will miss him so much.

Anyway, it's time for The Saturday Nine:

1. In a social setting, are you more of a talker or a listener? Oh Lord, I am a talker. But I love to listen to people, too. People are so interesting, and I love to hear about their lives.

2. Do you take compliments well? I love to receive compliments, but I don't take them well. I am learning to accept them and believe them from Steven, and to allow myself to show how happy it makes me to hear those things. I used to try to hide my grin, for some reason.

3. Did you ever go to camp as a kid? Yes, Girl Scout camp. I loved it.

4. What was your favorite game as a kid? Outside: Kickball. Inside: Clue.

5. If a sexy person was pursuing you, but you knew the person was married, would you go for it anyway? Probably not. But each situation is different.

6. Use three words to describe yourself? Friendly (Steven says "gregarious"), talkative, family-oriented.

7. If your house was on fire, what would be the first thing you grabbed? The kids, of course. But if we're talking about material things, my bible (I've had it since I graduated from high school and I have every birth, death, marriage, and divorce written in there) and the kids' baby books. And the cat.

8. Do you look like your mom or dad? I look like my mom, but I have my dad's nose (unfortunately!)

9. Anything big ever happen in your hometown? No, not really. But Fuzzy Zoeller (golfer) is from the area. His son just graduated from high school with my son.
Have a great weekend, all.
Catch you on Monday!

Although I prefer to avoid doing the lists of questions, yours are always interesting.

Humans are gregarious by nature; yet, some individuals are not strong on that quality.

I was beginning to think you and Steven were shacked-up somewhere in the mountains where nobody could find you.

I see you have flickr set up on you blog. I'll check it out.

Glad to see the "fighting." Seriously. It marks a point as a relationship matures where each party begins reclaiming personal boundaries .. and differences of opinion begin to replace the feeling that the "significant other" can do no wrong. So .. arguing can be quite healthful for a relationship, actually helping to cement it. Of course, both parties should fight fairly.

Overall, I'm betting you and Steven have had a wonderful 17 days.

RWA - I have lots more pictures than what I have uploaded to Fliker. I need more time!

Brother Dave - Thank you.

E.Craig - I would love to "shack up" in the mountains with Steven, but.....responsibility calls. Thanks for the good words on the fighting. Makes me feel better.

My boyfriend likes to call me gregarious too, that and vivacious. Which is okay, I suppose.

Glad you're back, but I'm sorry that you and Steven have to part ways :( Those 17 days must have been fun! :)

Did you get to see the fireworks out there? I'm glad you had a good time.

It was so fun to see you guys. I can't wait to read more about the rest of your trip.

Shen-shen - I was sorry to part ways, too. I miss him somthing terrible!

Corky - Believe it or not, we did not see any fireworks. We rolled into Belton, Texas at 8 PM, tired and grubby. We needed showers, food, and a clean bed, not fireworks.

Sushiboy - I know. I was just talking about you and Superwoman to Steven the other night. Can you guys come see us before you have the new baby?
