Things That Make Me Giggle.....

You all know how I've been trying to eat a more healthy diet, and one of the changes I really like is soy milk. I buy the Light Soy in vanilla and chocolate (for the kids). And the kids tease me about "going organic".

So tonight Rachael and I were in Walgreen's when we come across Earthables Natural Socks. They had some pretty patterns and colors so we stopped to look.

Suddenly Rachael says, "Look Mom, this pair was made from soy! You should get some to wear when you drink your soy milk!" It was so funny to think of wearing soy socks that we bought two pairs. Hers are made from bamboo and mine, of course, from soy. Turns out they're only 36% soy, but no matter.

So I sit here, sipping my vanilla soy milk and wearing my soy socks.

I just hope I don't get the two mixed up.

LOL! I was just at another blog that talked about wearing socks. Now they weren't soy socks or anything green like that. I'm wearing my new socks too. Also, not soy. But, I do drink soy milk from time to time!

w0w - Soy and bamboo textiles no less.

BTW, cotton is natural. ;-)

As this "trend" moves on to other items of clothing, it could bring a whole new meaning to "Eat My Shorts." (with apologies to Bart Simpson)     ;-)

That's why I keep my socks strictly cotton... No confusion!

You.. you... Sock Sipper!!! Uh, soy sipper... **giggle**

I should try soy milk again. The last time I tried it, I thought it was awful.

Soy milk is a wholesome food. But if I hear that you boiled your socks. I'm gonna' start to wonder about you, J.

I tried Soy milk when I was dating "The Princess" and I hated it.
I guess Soy socks would be ok with me though....one out of two ain't bad

hmmmmm socks from bamboo actually sound painful to wear..

Congrats on doing your part for the environment though.

Jay - Who you callin' "hippie", you, you...man, you!

Betty - So far I have managed to resist tasting the socks.

Sayre - Try the Vanilla. It tastes great on cereal.

E.Craig - I am really hooked on soy milk. When I discover we've run out (again) and I have to use regular milk on my cereal, I'm disappointed. And no, I haven't boiled my socks. Yet.

Birdman - Soy milk is not for everyone. But the socks are very soft. I'll send you a pair.

C.F. - Rachael tells me that the bamboo socks are very comfortable. We still laugh every time we see the other one wearing them.

Nice spur-of-the-moment humor on Rachael's part.

Reminds me of the Hemp isle at Whole Foods. Actually, we have a whole store devoted to Hemp products just up the road from Whole Foods, Whole Earth, and REI. THAT is a whole lotta hippie on that side of town.

If one sock was soy and the other chocolate-chip-cookie-based, would the feet be in conflict or be drawn together. Hmmm.
