Yesterday my daughter and a friend went over to Six Flags' Kentucky Kingdom at 11 in the morning. They used the $24 discount tickets I bought them the day before from the credit union, instead of paying the full $40 admission price. Once inside, they walked all the way to the back of the park to get in line for a wristband, which would not be given out until 1:00. There were approximately 200 people in front of them and many more behind them, but not to worry, they were giving out 2000 of them.
What, you ask, were the wrist bands for? Well.....
(wait for it.......wait for it.......)
THE JONAS' BROTHERS CONCERT!!!!!!! (wild teenage girl screaming!!!)
Yes, that's right. My daughter was 5 feet from Nick, Joe, and Kevin Jonas! Her friend Allie touched one of them! She may never wash that hand again.
You think you get a lot of hits, Jay, with your chick pics. You think you get a lot of comments, Corky. Just wait till you see MY numbers now that I've posted about these young hotties. I will get hit after hit after hit!!!! The Jonas' Brothers are THE latest teen singing sensations and they were in Louisville last night for WDJX's Birthday Bash Concert.
It was so funny to see the hundreds of young girls (some as young as 8 or 9) pouring out of the park entrance at 11:30 last night, many with tired parents in tow. Rachael and her friend Allie were like, "so excited!" when they hopped into my car, sunburnt and tired.
"They were THIS close to us, Mom! We took a hundred pictures!!!"
I'm just glad they had fun.

PS. I had a date last night. Not exactly someone I would think about getting serious with, but he was handsome and we had fun. More later.

I have to admit that I have no idea who the Jonas brothers are. Thank goodness, I have no teenage girls in my home. ;-)
*So not looking forward to CuriousGeorge's teen crush phase*
Only a cool mom would endure such screaming for her daughter's social fulfillment. :)
Have a great week.
J - Leave it to you to tell us all about the Jonas Brothers concert, and next to nothing about your date.
How utterly cruel of you to keep us in suspense. I guess that since he is someone to not get serious with, he gets low priority in your blog. ;-)
Anyway, you are an awesome Mom to do that for the girls.
Are those the guys from Veggietales? Heh.
I have no idea who the Jonas Brothers are either. I am hopeful that they are NOT a new version of the Backstreet Boys/New Kids On The Block/N'Sync or similar.
LOL! I wanna see them fight Hansen. I'd pay 40 bucks a ticket for that. ;)
Lisa - I didn't know who they were either until my daughter started talking about them.
FH - I did not have to endure this time. Rachael is almost 16, so I let her go with friends. We talked every other hour or so, and we texted several times, so I knew she was okay.
Dave - I will tell you about the date soon. I just didn't have time to explain. Thanks for the compliment.
Avitable - No VeggieTales, but I did hear that there were some really young girls there, so they might have heard of Veggie Tales. Besides, don't knock Bob the Tomato. He's cool.
RWA - Unfortunately, yes, they are.
Corky - There's no way they would fight Hanson. It would mess up their hair!

Oh Lord! I really wish they would outlaw boy bands. LOL
Personally, I like Larry. And, I've seen ALL the VeggieTales shows. That happens when one has very young grandkids.
I've never heard of the Jonas' Brothers, either. But, with all my granddaughters ... I'm sure I will soon enough.
hmmmmmmmmm guess it makes me old that I don't know who these guys are?? lmaoooooooo
Jay - I don't mind boy bands so long as I don't have to go to their concerts!
E.Craig - I like LarryBoy and Bob the Tomato. I've seen 'em all, too. Can you sing the theme song?
Canadian Flake - No it doesn't make you old. They just got started. They are big on Radio Disney, which should tell you something right there.
J.
Who? I guess you can tell my students only listen to rap and hip hop! Why am I suddenly proud of them for that?
Well, of course I can sing the theme song, plus "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything," Where Is My Hair Brush," and "The Yodeling Veterinarian From The Alps," just to name a few. What can I say? I simply have great musical taste!
David - Rap and hip hop? That's right up there with boy bands!
Craig - Let's see a video of you singing one of those songs!!!
