Harry Potter at Midnight.....

We just got back from our neighborhood bookseller's Harry Potter party. Both teens are in the living room ravenously reading the first chapter. Aaron had a blast.
More in the morning.

UPDATE: It is now 6:25 AM and I'm up to take Joseph to work. Joseph read only the first chapter and went to bed, since he had to work this morning. Rachael, however, is STILL UP!! Yes, that's right. She's been reading all night.
That's my girl.

That's great, J. Our nation's youth need to read. Very few things are as enriching.

We get ours in the morning, I am so going to read the end first so I can settle down and enjoy the book. That is after I pry it out of my daughters hands !

I am in Vegas and wanted to run tothe bookstore at midnight but just was sooo tired. I'll have to make a run first thing in the morning. I can hardly wait. You're kids are so lucky!

J.K. Rowling claims that this seventh installment of Harry Potter is her last.

When the crowd roars "Encore," will she announce her prequal?

I am probably the only person who isn't caught up in this incredible mass obsession.

The lines they showed on television last night were unbelievable.

I've never read one word of any of the seven books, nor have I seen any of the five movies.

I am not one of those people who says, "Well, anything to get them to read!". There is plenty out there they should NOT read. I am not a fan at all of the very popular Goosebumps series for kids.

But I find Harry Potter interesting and worth reading, and I will do anything to encourage my children's love of good literature.
Anything that has my kids hanging out in a quality bookstore for 3 hours is a good deal to me.

I have to go get my Potter book today. I plan to spend much of Sunday curled up with a good book...

I'm sitting right now beside my husband who is devouring the book (hopes to finish it this weekend to pass it off to me). So very cool that your kids (and millions of others) are reading this weekend.

Ah! Why am I blogging and reading blogs about HP instead of being in the other room reading HP!?

Harry Potter sure has a lot of power, doesn't he?
