Feelin' Puny......

Sorry I haven't been around much. I haven't been feeling too well. It's kind of hard to explain, but it turns out I have acid reflux, bad enough to make it hurt when I eat. I have to give up caffeine! De-caff coffee, hear I come, if I'm even allowed to drink coffee. The acidity in coffee might be too much. It goes without saying that soft drinks are gone.

But the good news - My blood test came back fine, as well as my urine tests. And the medicine she prescribed is helping with my back aches and the eating. I didn't eat much yesterday, but I actually had a bowl of cereal this morning! Yay!

I'm still tired, and I have to go back in a couple weeks to test my urine again, but hopefully I'm on the upswing. It's no fun to feel puny, especially when it's so vague.

Have a great weekend, all!

J.

Sorry to hear you've been under the weather, but I'm glad to hear that the test results were fine.

Get well soon!

Yuck- sorry to hear that. When I had a problem with that, the only thing that really helped was turning to a totally vegetarian diet and taking pro-biotics.

I hope it turns around fast and you're feeling better in no time.

Acid Reflux is a biotch. I hate it so much. Miserable.

I hate it when I feel a little under the weather. Plus I have a sensitive stomach so lots of things bother me. I avoid certain foods because I just know myself. Anyway, glad the tests all came back OK.

Sorry about your stomach ! I have GERD also, and once you get it settled down, the meds really do help maintain it. I still have to watch what I eat, especially in the evening !

Hang in there !

No caffeine. Sorry to hear that. Just maybe, once your body settles down from the insult of high dosages (assuming here) of the chemical, you will be able to resume some moderate coffee or Diet Coke consumption. Glad to hear there are no major health issues.

Hi. I hope you feel better. I had to stop by and say, "Hey" because I discovered we had so much in common. S.Indiana, age, Cancer, Dragon. It was just darn scary. :)

Have a great weekend and get better.

That sucks! Hope you get to feeling better pretty fast. I have a friend who had that same problem. He said the stuff the doctor gave him allowed him to keep drinking Pepsi OR coffee but not both.

Take it easy over the weekend and stay cool. Get better fast!!

Thanks everyone. I can really feel the love. I AM taking it easy. And it gets a little better every day. I actually had 3 small meals today!

J - There is nothing more miserable than being under the weather. We take good health for granted when we have it.

Gastric reflux is an extremely unpleasant condition. I use the Kirkland [Costco] brand of Acid Reducer. It is the generic ranitidine. [75 mg per tab.]

I take one tablet in the early evening. This stops any reflux that once occurred after bedtime. The directions suggest use before any meal that usually causes heartburn, with a maximum of two in 24 hours.

The Kirkland brand is inexpensive, containing 120 doses.

Well, that is my anecdotal account. I hope that you continue to have good lab test results. My last lab test revealed blood in my alcohol stream.
