Grab a quick cup......

Okay, this is going to be a quickie. I just didn't want to leave that rant up as my lastest post.
Here's what's up:
The kids are busy, but well. Joseph has a lead in the play, which is coming up fast, so he is gone all the time to practice. He looks tired. Rachael is back in the band "Ms. Understood" and is also in the chorus of the play. So she has practice, too, but not as much as Joseph. They are both still taking voice and both still hoping to hear from Music Theatre Louisville for summer parts. Both are still doing quite well in school. Latest report card on Joseph: A's, and 2 B+'s (in a school where 95-100 is an A) and Rachael, all A's. Daniel is back in soccer, and happy. He is showering daily now...yikes, he'll be 13 in June! Aaron's soccer starts soon and he is doing much better in his reading.
School is still crazy. One step forward, two steps back. I decided to stay in my same position for next year. Yeah, I know. But I don't want to start over again, and going back to regular ed. would be starting over in a way, because I haven't taught a regular class of 20-some kids in 5 years. I also want the chance to start the year off knowing what I know now. One year is not a good litmus test. And I've had 2 people from higher up tell me I'm a good BD teacher and they don't want to lose me, so I must be doing something right.
Spring Break is coming! Thank you, God!!! The kids and I don't have the same spring break, but it always seems to work out. They are going with their dad to Indianapolis on Saturday and staying until Tuesday. Then they'll be here, just schlepping around on Wed. and Thurs., then I am taking Friday off so we can do something as a family. My spring break is a couple weeks later. I take them to school every day, go help serve lunch one day, and do what I want the rest of the day. (tee, hee)
Baron and I talked on the phone last night, for the first time in over a week. It was good to talk to him. That's all for now on this subject. More later. Maybe. But it was a good talk. (smile)
Have a great Thursday, all.
J.

According to US HouseBill#1273c, school districts not having completed Spring Break by March 23 will have to cancel it. Man, what a bummer.

.....hee hee, kidding :)

I have a love/hate relationship with spring break. Love that the kid gets a break from school and love spending all the extra time with him. Hate that I have to stay up til the middle of the night doing my own work because it has to be done. The sleep deprivation alone makes things tough.

That said, I can't wait for summer vacation!!!!

Oh, and J? Your kids apparently rock!

I have a feeling you guys do more running around in one day than I do in a week.

What kind of school is that? 95-100 is an A?

I would have failed high school with a scale like that.

I can sense some relief in your post. I'll be thinking good thoughts for you.

FH - I am sticking my tongue out at you. No matter what House Bill 6 million and 22 whatever says, I am still taking my spring break!

Sayre - Thanks! I think they rock, too!

Jay - We run around more than most people.

RWA - "What kind of school is that?" A superior school with very high standards! I am proud of the expectations they have for my kids.

Eatmisery and Corky - Thanks. I DO feel better, for many reasons.

It's one of the "new" Blogger choices..."washed denim" I think...and then I messed with the colors a little.
I just couldn't take all that pink anymore! (laugh)
