Somewhere over the rainbow.....

I promised I would blog every day, so here I am. It is been a tough weekend, and a difficult day. Things are strained between Baron and I, and I feel responsible. Things at work are tense, and I am WAY behind in my paperwork. I forgot to pay the phone bill on time, so the phone was turned off today for about 3 hours, until I realized my mistake and ran to pay it. Report cards are due tomorrow and I've barely started. One of my students got pee on my jeans today at school (long story -not all that terrible, but still a gross end-result).

Help!

Been there done that. About two months ago I had the phone shut off one week and the cable shut off the next. Somehow I lost track of not one, but two bills.

Breathe and take one thing at a time. It's the only thing that gets me through tough times.

There were many times when report cards drove me over the edge. I was lucky because wife would help grade and write rcards into the wee hours the night beore. Some of my favorite comments came in the wee hours: "When Bobby is on task and completes his work, it often shows his greater intellegence" was for an often failing child. Arghhhh.

I liken this to what I call the Stoplight Effect. When you hit a red stop light, and keep the same pace, you'll pretty much hit every red stop light on that street.

Best solution is to pull over for a minute, relax while the light is green for a few seconds, then take off again. If you keep the same pace then, you'll hit every green light!

Same thing in life. If the hits just keep coming, you may be ahead of where you're supposed to be! Something that's easy to do in this fast paced world. Pull over, stop for a few minutes, relax and let life pass you by, then get up and go again.

I'll almost wager your day will get better immediately!

Always!

Hale - I'm glad I'm not the only one!

TenseTeacher - I think I'm the tense one these days.

Princess and KentuckyGurl - Thanks! It's funny, but when I've been feeling down lately, I've wished I could call one of you and talk.

F.H. - Luckily (or unluckily, depending on the day), I only have 5 students, so my report cards didn't take too long. I had time today, so at least THAT is off my plate.

Nerdboy - That sounds like great advice, except with 4 kids, 3 cats, a house, a job, and a boyfriend, I don't ever have time to pull over! I just gotta keep on keepin' on! Thanks for the kind words, though. You're a sweetie!
