Overheard

Earlier this evening, Aaron (my 8 year old) was asking his older brother for some help with his math homework. Daniel offered a strategy for solving the problem but Aaron wasn't sure that was the right way to do it. They went back and forth for a few minutes until at last I heard Daniel settle the issue once and for all with these words:

"Aaron, TRUST ME. I'm an 8th grader and I take algebra. "

Aaron didn't say another word. I mean, how could you argue with THAT?
I almost choked trying to stifle my laughter in the next room.

Oh, to have such confidence again!

Come to think of it, I was a lot smarter than I am now when I was in the 8th grade.

I can just hear him in the future: Because I'm your father and I said so!

When I was in the 8th grade I was three minutes smarter than e.craig.

Precious comment by Daniel.

All 14 yr-olds know that an 8th-grader is smarter than an adult.
