(Not So) Wordless Wednesday

Reasons to be proud:

My dad's childhood home, the house where he was born, was recently torn down. Before the demolition, my dad took Joseph and Rachael out to see the house and the old shed and tell them some stories. I was in Texas at the time, but Joseph called me and told me how clearly upset Grandpa was at seeing the house about to be torn down. So Joseph got the great idea to drive back out there on his own with his 35mm camera (not digital) and take some black and white photographs. They turned out very well. He bought a collage frame and put them in himself, and gave it to my dad for his birthday Monday night. My dad was almost in tears. I know you can't see it very well, but I took a picture of it anyway. And since Joseph could only choose a few pictures for the collage, he put a copy of ALL the shots he took in a photo book for my dad.

Rachael just finished her summer theater production of "The Odd Couple". They did the female version, with the odd couple being "Olive" and "Florence" instead of "Oscar" and "Felix". If you ever watched the old TV show, Rachael played the female version of Murray, the cop. She was "Mickey" and she was very good!

This picture reminds me of Crys, when she did her funny "midnight therapy" videos and she was always kind of hiding behind something - her hair, or the Christmas tree. Anyway, I guess this isn't really a reason to be proud, Rachael just cracks me up because she is always taking silly pictures of herself.

This picture is bound to be one of my all-time favorites. Yesterday was the last day for our church's summer program for Jr.High students called "Summer Daze". Joseph and Rachael participated as teen leaders, and Daniel was a participant. This is the last time all three of them will be able to do something like this through the church's youth program, as Joseph has left high school and will now be eligible to be a part of the "Young Adults", and Daniel is just moving into the teen program. I will only have 3 teenagers for 2 more years. I am proud of how happy and sun-kissed they all look.

Happy Wednesday!
J.

oh, and you have to tell me what you think of The Shack. my husband read it and said it started off sort of Fundie-esque, but that it really self corrected and he thought i'd like it. as you know i'm averse to all Fundie-esque things. i will follow your lead.

Crys - Oh, I didn't mean you were hiding,as in afraid. I meant more like "peering out from behind".

So far I like The Shack. Great beginnig. What's "Fundie"?

That as an incredibly thoughtful thing that Joseph did for your dad. No wonder you are proud. You're raising some lovely, sensitive people there!

That picture of Rachel is quite "arty".

And you should blow up and frame the picture of your older three. It's rare to have one picture where EVERYONE looks so relaxed and happy at once!

Sweet Post sweets.
The song memories is rolling through my empty head.

Whats up with This music? I was flipping my laptop over trying to figure where that noise was coming from.

I think it's time you graduate to a web page. I know you are itchin to put up some more teacher stuff.

You've raised a good son. Never mind some of his typical teenage behavior.

Your new music addition is a nice touch. For some strange reason, I had you figured as an acid rock person. ;-)

Joseph sounds so sweet.. What a lovely thing for him to do!

That last picture is so adorable :D

Sayre - Thanks. I can't believe how sweet he can be sometimes and then he turns around into "the seed of chucky". He spent the whole evening volunteering, making coffee drinks for a coffee shop they had at church. He confuses the shit out of me!

Sexy Trucker - I am so glad you liked it. Even more glad that you like the music. I love it too. Miss you!

E.Craig - It's moments like that one that give me hope for his soul! (laugh) I'm glad you like the music. I love classical. As for what kind of "girl" I am, I really like country. But I hate websites where you open them up and music comes BLARING out at you. No way. Acid rock? Come on!

Shen-shen - Thanks. I'm glad you liked it. They're my crew.
