Ten on Tuesday

Hi everyone. I am writing tonight from Salt Lake City, Utah. The drive from Wyoming into Utah was so beautiful. We saw the most amazing rock formations, as well as gorgeous hills, and here in Utah - mountains! There are so many things I've never seen, it's hard to list them all.

Anyway, today's Ten on Tuesday is "10 Inventions That Have Made Life Easier". Keep in mind these are things that have made MY life easier!

1. Dishwashers (I hate doing dishes the old way).
2. Cell phones.
3. The switch on the driver's side door that allows me to lock all the windows so no one else can roll them down, therefore ending the fight over how much wind is needed in the back seat.
4. Caller ID (so I can see if my ex-husband is calling and NOT answer!)
5. E-mail.
6. Laptops (I love being able to use my "work" computer at school AND at home)
7. Microwaves.
8. Pizza delivery (hey, somebody invented it once upon a time!)
9. Drive-through windows.
10. $1 movies from The Red Box.

What are some inventions that have made YOUR life easier?

More from "The Great American Road Trip" coming soon!

Books on CD. I get tired of listening to the same music when I travel.

Internet. It makes access to porn SO much easier.

And I'm jealous, I want to go to Utah.

Hey J. if you guys happen to get a load thru the Valley of the Sun you can find my email in my blog profile and we could figure out a time and place to meet for a drink...yes coffee is a drink.

You pretty well nailed the great inventions, Hootergirl. I'm racking my wee brain trying to come up with another one.

Since my family likes my homemade bread .. I would have to add the bread machine for making life easier.

Durai - Thanks for stopping by.

T-dog - Has beer made your life easier, or just more fun? We thought he had a load today going right through Arizona, but it fell through. We are still in Utah, enjoying the evening and the view of the lake. I'll let you know if a drink (yes, I know coffee is a drink!)is possible.

JustDave - I've been wanting to try one of those. By the way, are you still planning a trip to Louisville? Don't come while I'm gone!

Sayre - I LUV my caller ID.
You won't believe this - he had a load going to Jacksonville, Florida all locked up and at the LAST minute it fell through! I had images of us getting to meet - I was sooo disappointed! But tomorrow is another day!

Sushiboy - I forgot about WiFi and iPods!

Shen-shen - Affordable cell phones have made my life as a parent immensely easier. The trip is going great!

Nobody - The mountains in Wyoming and Utah are beautiful! Thanks for stopping by. Come back again soon.

E.Craig - I would agree with the bread machine. And I forgot, the coffee grinder!

And no, we're not in Oregon. We're in Salt Lake City, Utah.

I also like dishwashers for their high heat exposure to kill germs. And, I share your dislike for "the old way."

Cell phones are lifesavers, IMO.

Caller ID has helped me ignore many an unwanted conversation.

E-mail makes it so easy to keep up with family and friends.

Microwaveables are among so many food choices. So quick and easy.

Believe it or not, I love the "hands-free" technology for cell phones when driving. Less distraction while driving is better.

Louisville is on hold right now but should pop up on the map in the near future.
