Ramblngs of a Sick Woman......

Okay, so my stomach doesn't feel so good. It's been feeling kind of queasy all day, but this evening it really hit rock bottom. I made a grocery run after work, to buy the ingredients for a Mexican dinner for tonight, and the tortellini primavera for tomorrow night. So when I got home, I turned dinner over to the teenagers and made camp in my room on my bed. I couldn't even LOOK at taco meat! Ugh! So this first picture is an attempt at capturing what all is on my bed: my laptop, my Oprah magazine, my reading glasses (ugh - more on those later), and my book. When I don't feel well, either emotionally or physically, I retreat to my room. I have a big, comfy bed and it makes me feel like I am "getting away from it all". Tonight I have been feeling kind of fragile....I don't know why exactly, just kind of needy. So, I'm retreating.

Later, Aaron came back to join me. This is Sheldon, his rock. We have had Sheldon forever. I don't even remember when or where we got him. Sheldon disappears, either on the front porch or in the boys' room, only to resurface and be played with again. Anyway, Sheldon joined us for studying math facts, spelling words, and Aaron reading his Reading story. I tried to have Rachael take a picture of us on the bed, working together, but it didn't turn out so well. I don't look so hot when I'm not feeling well......

By the way, did I mention we had snow yesterday? It came at just the right time in the early morning to close schools on this side of the river and give my Louisville school corporation a 2 hour delay. Here are a couple of pictures I snapped in the early morning before I left for work.

It looked really pretty that morning. Unfortunately, it warmed up enough during the day to melt most of the snow. However, it made for a great first day back after the long weekend.....the kids arrived at 11, we went to lunch at 12, we worked for about 4 hours, and they went home! Yeah!

Anyway, that's all for now. I feel like going to sleep early tonight. I sure hope I'm not coming down with something.....

I hope this post finds you feeling better. Cos I still have some "getting even" to do, and I don't wanna hafta do that when you're sick. Why .. it would be like kicking a poor old dog.
Aaron appears to be happy spending time with Mom. Obviously he doesn't know the REAL you.
We got a dusting of that snow, too. Maybe half an inch .. if that.
Remember, J, ... "let a smile be your umbrella .. and you're gonna get a mouthful of rain."   ;-)

Sheldon, huh? Well, that's no weirder than having a Christmas tree named Steve (who is still hanging out in his stand on the front porch by the way). I like the idea of a rock. They don't shed.

I hope you feel better soon!

Not any fun to feel not so hot.

When I am not feeling well I hit the sack, and I nap.

Slumber is very healing for me.

Get Well Soon.

I use to have a pet rock, too. I taught it to sit, stay and play dead. If I told it to sit and say, all the calling and begging you did wouldn't make it come to you. It wouldn't move until I went over and picked it up. I called it Slag.

You're coming down with something; the weather is cold and shitty; you miss Steven...it's just not a good time right now.

I hope you feel better soon.

Goodness - I hope you haven't died. It's pretty quiet around here. I do hope anonymous made it in and you're just soaking up some comfort...
