What a Week!

Hello everyone! This has been quite a week. I have to go way back to Tuesday just to explain. Here goes:

Tuesday night Joseph came home upset. He had broken up with his high school "friend". He confessed that he is way behind in 2 crucial classes. He was so upset I was really concerned. I decided to stay home from school on Wednesday to help him get a couple of late papers knocked out. And no, I didn't do them for him. What I did was read the short story and articles he had to write about and help him get a focused thesis statement. Then as he sat and worked, he would throw out ideas and at least I knew what he was talking about.

Wednesday night Aaron made his First Reconciliation. For the non-Catholics, this is his first official confession to the priest. It is considered the prelude to his First Communion in the Spring. I was very proud of him. Doesn't he look handsome in his new outfit?

Thursday Steven makes it to Louisville. I met him after school for a little "private" time (yes, Coffeypot, that means exactly what you think it means.). After dinner, Steven gave Aaron a real treat - he let him sit in the cab of his semi-truck and blow the air horn! A funny sidenote: I took Steven back to his truck kind of late, after the kids were in bed. We got in the truck for some cuddle time, and before I knew it, I had fallen asleep! I finally straggled home around around 1, then got back up at 6. It was nice to snuggle and sleep together, but it was hard to get up and go home!

Friday I played "hookey" from school. I took a personal day so I could hang out with Steven. After I took the kids to school, I joined Steven in his bunk and we went back to sleep for awhile. Finally we got up and joined the world. I have been teasing him about never getting to ride in his truck. Usually once he's here, his truck is parked and we run around in my car. So Friday for lunch, he took me for a short ride about 30 minutes up the highway. My first ride in a real semi-truck! It was fun! We also did some Christmas shopping. Friday night he helped me and Aaron pick out the Christmas tree. This picture is a little blurry, but here's our tree!

Saturday we spent all day together. He put up with a lot of "kid stuff" in the morning, and then we had quite a bit of time to ourselves in the afternoon. The kids' dad was in town to see Rachael in her play, and he took Joseph and Aaron with him, so Steven and I had time to run some errands and have a long, quiet lunch.

He finally hit the road after dinner and it was sad to see him go! I miss him already.

Today the kids and I went to church, the kids had some running around, and then I had some time to do some Christmas shopping! I have finally gotten some BIG items off my list! The tree is decorated and I got my lesson plans done.

Have a great Monday everyone!
J.

I really must have missed something... I've even gone back into the past when I first noticed Steven showing up and can't find where you mention meeting him. How did this happen? Where? When? I wasn't going to ask but just enjoy the ride, but it seems that Steven is becoming an important part of your life! So I'm asking...

It's good that he's willing to do "kid-things"... it bodes well, especially if your life is all about "kid-things", which, if you're a mom - it is.

Did he shave a moustache off? He has a nice smile and now you can see it!

Oh Sayre, I don't have time this morning, but I will post the story of how we met. I am usually reluctant to mention boyfriends here, because for some reason as soon as I start writing about how happy I am, something happens! (laugh) Yes, he does have a nice smile. And he is SOOO good to me. You should have seen him reading books with Aaron the other night. Talk about melting my heart!

More later,
J.

Now that's a busy weekend.

I really think it's better to leave some things to coffeypot's imagination, though, rather than just coming out and telling him.

J - You have had some quality time with your kids, and some good personal time with Steven.

Your day [off] with Joseph seems to have been a smart choice since he had you involved with his assignment. He did not have a lot of time to mull over the break-up.

Congratulations to Aaron on his First Reconciliation.

You are blessed to have such wonderful children. They are blessed to have you as their Mom.

Ahhhhh Cracker Barrel....yum yum yum. Hey, when you walk in, do you go to the fireplace and warm your butt up before you sit down?

that's what I do....LOL.

Glad your son got his papers knocked out!
and I agree, your man does have a nice smile....

Be good!

I'm glad you had a good time with Steven, but I don't think I want to ride around in that truck after you two had been there. Might slide off the seat.

I had my first Reconciliation with my first wife. We reconciled but she still got everything. And I’m not even Catholic.

RWA - I was just trying to beat Coffeypot to the inevitable innuendo about "private time". But it didn't work. Oh well. The bottom line is, I got all kinds of quality attention from MY man.

Brother Dave - You are so sweet to me. Thank you for the compliments. I am blessed with good kids.

Special K - Yes, he DOES have a great smile.

E.Craig - It was a great weekend.

Nerdboy - I have been known to play hooky for the man I love! (wink)

Coffeypot - We weren't in the seats very long....(wink)there's a bed in the back. (wicked grin)

Your week was slight busier than mine. Okay, a lot busier. ;-)
