It Is Finished.

Merry Christmas

It is 1 in the morning. I made one midnight run to Walgreen's (open 24 hours, and full of people!). The presents are wrapped, the bows attached, the "to/from" stickers added....I am ready for the morning. I have some surprises for all of them. My biggest coup: 2 Michael Buble tickets for his concert in March for Joseph. He thinks he's only getting money. (snicker)

Rachael has already gotten some of hers: a Josh Groban Christmas CD, a new cell phone (upgraded), and a "Madeline's Christmas" shirt. But she knows her gift from me is the remaining balance on her plane ticket to Paris, which is approximately $400. So there should be no griping from her.

Daniel is getting Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii, a cool hoodie sweatjacket that he has already picked out, and a gift certificate from me saying I will buy the next "hot" Nintendo game he wants that is coming out in February.

Aaron is getting the humongous remote-control monster truck he has been drooling over at Target, a new Wii game, an army man set, a light up drawing board, and a 12 pack of shiny Hot Wheels.

As for me, I had hoped for an Ipod Nano. Didn't happen. Steven gave me some money to help pay for the new back brakes my car desparately needed, as well as sent me flowers twice! I don't know what the kids got me, except for Aaron, who couldn't wait. He gave me a beautiful angel in a glass snow globe, with a music box on the bottom. My brother drew my name in the family name draw, and he gave me a gift certificate to my hair salon (which is what I asked for). My parents gave me money (ahhhh!).

Anyway, I'm getting sleepy. I'm sure Aaron will wake me up very early tomorrow.

Have a happy Christmas, all.

J.

UPDATE: Aaron came running back to my room at 7:45 this morning! He already knew exactly how many presents everyone had, especially him. He was very happy with everything - he kept saying, "Hey, I asked for this! Hey, this was on my list!". Joseph was surprised by the concert tickets, Rachael laughed at the "High School Musical" and "High School Musical 2" DVDs, Daniel was very surprised at "Guitar Hero 3" (he thought he was going to have to buy it himself with his Christmas money), and Aaron, of course, was thrilled. I got a CD case, some Bath and Body lotion, and the final season of MASH on DVD. A good time was had by all. J.

J - Just apply at Hooters to wait tables. In only one night you will make enough tips to buy an iPod. ;-)

Looks like a pretty succssful Christmas, Hootergirl. Yep, I'd say you have some "money makers." Most women do. But I only go there for the wings - not the brest.

I know you and yours had a great time this morning. Now, go to bed earyly and get some sleep.

It looks like you had a wonderful Christmas. I pray you have many more.

J - I was going to put in a sly little comment about how you would "fit" at Hooters, then I forgot to do it. ;-)

That sounds like a happy Christmas Day. Nothing like family.
I went to daughter Nancy's this afternoon. It was a sunny day with temp in mid 40s, and I took a 40 minute walk in her neighborhood. She took a 30 minute run with Madeline. Kelsie stayed in Dayton, so I had four granddaughters to interact with too.
Overall it was a "low key" day for me. I came home and, for my Christmas movie, watched Quentin Tarantino's "Death Proof."
