I have fallen, friends.
I have sinned.
I have stepped away, however briefly, from all that I have professed, and gone over to the dark side. I was tempted by the seductive sight of the forbidden, and I failed. I had been tempted many times before and had walked away victorious, even righteously, but not today....
No, today I was no better than the common man, perhaps worse, because I knew it was wrong and I did it anyway.
Tomorrow I will pick up my cross and begin again. I shall not only talk the talk but also walk the walk. I will face temptation again and conquer it. I shall be forgiven and renewed.
Thank you friends, for hearing my confession and accepting me for the lowly sinner that I am.
I beg your forgiveness.
I will carry on.
Your humble friend,
HoosierGirl

Hell! What's all the fuss about? Damn, that burger looks good. So, you slipped. You get to start fresh tomorrow. "We have only today."
I'm guessing I average 3 stops a month at a fast food joint. "Sonic" is the best, but I have to drive to Middletown to visit the closest one. I think I've been there once within the last year.
Mmmmmm. Triple with cheese from Wendys, or double double from in-n-out, or triple whopper with cheese from BK!
Totally my weaknesses!
Well, E.Craig, I was trying to be funny!
It was no big deal. But it WAS good!!!!

It's a good thing that I'm not Catholic- confessions aren't my forte! ;-) Well, that and lots of other reasons I suppose.
Honestly, once you haven't eaten red meat and/or fast food you will lose your taste for it. I'm serious! But this one little thing is not going to be the end of you.
Have you ever consulted with a nutritionist? I think it would be really helpful to you if you could.
Hope your week is going better!
I don't do fast food too often, but when I do it's usually a really good burger form Wendy's or Sonic.
Oh, and fries. ;-)
You're human. It will happen from time to time.
Mmmmm.... who knew sin could look so delicious!!
Had me going there. . .
Ha!! Love your post...and oddly I have been fantasizing about a Quarter Pounder lately. You've inspired me! I'm going to do it!!
Looks good to me. Hey, it happens. At least you didn't have two! :)
Big Mac's, yum!
Hey, it's just a burger...we are all only human. It's okay. Consider yourself way forgiven. *wink*
Was it good?
Good gosh, Gerty… what a gash!
Lisa - Funny thing, I HAVE been to a nutritionist, but for Aaron. I should make an appointment for me. My week IS going better, thanks. And tomorrow is Friday! Hallelujah!
Jay - I managed to avoid the fries. And when they got my order wrong and accidentally gave me a 12 piece chicken nuggets, I turned them down too. Honestly, I don't know HOW that Big Mac ended up in my car! ;)
RWA - I figure one slip in 8 weeks is a pretty good track record, so far.
Heels - It DOES look good, doesn't it? Maybe I'll go get another one.....no, no, stop thinking like that!
Jeff - You're so easy. ;)
Mimi - NO, no, don't do it. I couldn't bear it if I led you down that sinful path!!!
Tricia - Hey, that's a thought....I could have had two!!!
Jane - Thank you, Jane. You were the only one to offer me absolution. And yes, it was sooooo good!!! :)
Dave - You are so alliterate!!
J.
You are forgiven...
I make sure my indulgence is worth it. About once a month (or sometimes less), I go to the golf course next to my office and get the best cheeseburger in town. Then I don't need one again for a long, long time.
Hey...It's Mimi again. I just tagged you with a Teaching Meme (is that annoying?) Well, I love your blog and thought I should let you know about the tag...maybe I'm very unhip. :)
Hi there. I hope you don't mind me popping in again. I haven't stopped in for awhile so I popped in to catch up. ( don't feel stalked...I am a blog friend of Corky's..and a fellow trekkie..lol). I have been reading your posts for the last few weeks...and this one is particularly hilarious. Hope everyone is adjusting to being back at school. We still have about 2 weeks left of vacation. I will stop in again soon, hope you don't mind.
Sayre - Thank you for forgiving me. I think it was enough for awhile. That, and the horrendous back ache I had the next day. Ugh.
Serves me right.
Mimi- I love memes. Tag away! I will do it this weekend.
Canadian Flake -
Please come back all you want. I love YOUR blog.
J.
