FINALLY....I've got answers!!!

Okay, okay.....apparently I suck at deadlines, at least ones that aren't tied to keeping my job or keeping my utilities turned on!
Jay set up an "interview" post last Friday, complete with unique and interesting questions, and we the participants, were to answer by Monday.

Um..... it's Thursday. Sorry.

So, without further delay, here are Jay's questions and my answers:


1. What is your favorite childhood memory?
This one is a toughie, because a couple of good ones sprang to mind. But I finally decided on our family summer vacations to Florida. We did the Disney World trip several times (and those were great trips, too), but my favorite memories are of our visits to St. Petersburg Beach. There is a smaller hotel there, called The Alden, on the Gulf of Mexico. My parents would always get a ground level room, with a kitchenette, and the sliding glass doors would open out to a little patio, which gave way to a yard, which was separated by a low wall, from the sandy beach, and then the ocean! I always wanted to move in there. My brother and sister and I would alternate between one of the pools, the shuffle board court, and the beach. We would play in the sand just on the other side of the wall, using water from the shower to wash the sand off. I remember waking up to the sound of the tractor raking the beach, and the sound of seagulls calling. My dad and I would get up as early as we could to walk the beach and look for shells. I loved sitting outside at night, listening to the waves and feeling the breeze off the ocean, with the palm trees and the prickly grass. It was (and still is) a great place for a vacation. I have had the privilege of taking MY children there twice, and I have pictures of them playing in the same pool, and standing on the same beach.

2. What would your dream house look like?
In my dream house, everyone would have their own bedroom and bathroom. I would have space for Daniel to have a set of weights, AND a sound proof room to play drums. There would be a family room for all the video games. I would have a large room, with an office and one of those jacuzzi tubs. It would be in the country, with lots and lots of trees and flower gardens.
(sigh)

3. What’s the riskiest thing you’ve ever done?
Truthfully, I can't tell you. But it was an incredibly stupid risk, and I was very lucky I didn't get arrested or some awful disease. Truly.

The riskiest thing I've ever done that I can write about here was getting married the second time to a man 15 years my senior and moving me and the kids to Kentucky. I am NOT a big risk taker, I like the comfort zone very much, so for me to marry someone so different from me, get a new job, a new house, and move my family away from the only home I had ever had as an adult was a VERY BIG risk. And even though we didn't stay married, and the kids and I ended up coming back here, I am not sorry I did it. Many good things came from the experience. It was a learning and growing experience for us all.

4. If you were a crayon what color would you be?
I think I would be purple, not a shocking purple, kind of a sunset purple. I like to stand out sometimes, and I think I'm nice to look at, but I also sometimes like to blend into the background.

5. Batman or Superman?
Batman, definitely. I grew up on Adam West.
