Boring and Insane...or both.

I am insane.
Or utterly boring.
I'm not sure which.
Yesterday afternoon my children left for 4 days in Indianapolis with their dad. After they left, I got some lunch, messed around on the computer, and went to church, where I had my lectoring debut (I did fine, but I was nervous as hell).
After church, having just about any food option at my disposal, and having plans for later, I opted to order my very favorite-est pizza in the whole world, chicken veggie pizza from Pizza Hut, with thin and crispy crust. I hardly ever get to have this pizza, because no one in the house but me likes it, and majority rules in the pizza ordering.

I watched a little TV, munching happily on my pizza, until I popped in the movie I had rented: Stanger Than Fiction. This is an amazing movie. It is funny, and thought-provoking at the same time. I was thoroughly engrossed.

I was supposed to meet some friends at 10, but a little after 9 I realized I didn't want to go anywhere. I was so happy to be in my house, ALONE, sprawled out on my couch, watching a good movie, eating food that I love, and drinking Diet Coke. I called them and cancelled.
At a little before 10, another old friend called asking me to go to the movies. Now those of you who know me know I LOVE to go to the movies, and hardly ever get to go without the kids.....
But I decided to stay home. I know my friend was shocked, because I've been pestering him for the last 2 weeks to get together, but I politely explained that I WAS doing exactly what I wanted to do that evening. I have been so starved for stress-free "alone time" that I couldn't even begin to describe how good it was.
My pizza, my diet coke, my movie, my cats, and I ......all alone in my quiet house.
It was a very good evening.

I never finished Stranger. I was shown a boot-leg version that had sound out of sync starting about 1/3 of the way through. Couldn't take it. Guess I'll pick it up someother day.

Quiet time and alone. I know people who would kill for it.

I had my whole day to myself. I cleaned house, my cousin came over, I looked through blogs, I folded laundry - then everyone showed up at my house at 5pm for a birthday party (mine). It was a very good day.

I'm glad you enjoyed yours!

That actually sounds like a pretty decent day to me.

"Me" time has saved many people's sanity, I'm sure. I'm glad you had a great night!

Sanity rules! Time alone is wonderful now and then, J. Sometimes you just have to take it when you can get it. "You done good!"

I love days like that. The TV, the couch and food nearby. It doesn't get much better than that.

Sounds like a most perfect night to me! Nothing I love more than my alone time. Maybe this is why I haven't got children? Who knows. :D

It sounds exactly like what I would do if I had actual "me" time. Enjoy your child free time.
