6 Easy Steps to Weekend Procrastination...

It is Sunday evening, and once again I have managed to procrastinate all weekend on my school work. I have not finished my lesson plans and I have not graded papers. Here are 6 easy steps to avoiding doing what you are supposed to do:

#1 - Take a Silly Quiz.
You know how much I love these things. I stole this one from "Sayre Smiles". I was so tickled to find out I am most like Cinderella. Much better than Goofy, that's for sure.

You scored as Cinderella. Your alter ego is Cinderella! You often find yourself doing a lot of housework, but if you are patient, your hard work usually pays off. You are prone to losing things, so dont rush through everything.

#2 - Go Ice Skating.
Baron and I took his 3 girls and my oldest son ice skating last night HERE.
My daughter was invited to a party, my middle son was at his "home away from home", aka "Levi's house", and Aaron, the youngest, went to his dad's for the weekend. Let me just say that I am NOT too old to ice skate. I am, however, way too old to fall down gracefully. I can tell you exactly where my backside met the ice on that second fall. But we did have fun, and Baron's youngest, A., took off like a regular Dorothy Hamill (if you don't know who Dorothy Hamill is, you're too young!). The teens had fun, too, although Baron's oldest, T., could possibly have a career in hockey. I quickly negotiated a truce with her in the "knock 'em, sock 'em" game, as her aim is deadly and accurate. It was good to see Baron and his girls laughing and having fun together. He's a good dad, and he tries so hard for them. It's one of the qualities I love about him. Now, where's that pillow I was sitting on?

3. Watch "Numbers" on DVD.

I love this show. I have been renting DVDs with 4 episodes each on them and watching them on the weekends. What I love about this show is that it's so intellectual. I love the way they all talk about theory and application, and no one is ridiculed for being a thinker. I miss that kind of atmosphere. It makes me crave a more academic atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, elementary school is academic, but at a much different level than college, obviously. I love to talk about the "why" behind the "how". I wish I was as smart as Charlie, the mathematician brother, or better yet, his brainy and beautiful girlfriend. It's an addicting show, and I highly recommend it.

4. Take your teens to a Voice Contest.
Joseph and Rachael competed in their first regional voice competition. This is them, warming up with their voice coach. We spent 5 hours in Scottsburg, Indiana, at the high school on Saturday morning. There are 4 levels: 1, 2, 3, and 4, 1 being the most difficult. Joseph competed as a "1", Rachael as a "2". Her coach wanted her to compete as a "1", but she would have had to practice extra sessions and she was too busy with other activities to do that. Both of them received a "gold" medal for their performances. I got to hear them Friday night when they went for a practice session, singing in Italian no less. Because Joseph competed as a "1", he will get to go to the state competition. As usual, I am extremely proud of both of them.

5. Surf the web for silly links, and e-mail them to your friends.
Baron sent me this one: http://www.xs4all.nl/~jvdkuyp/flash/see.htm. It's a funny one. Try it!

6. Write a long blog post, complete with pictures.
Don't forget to put in a lot of links, and spend several minutes editing, to achieve maximum procrastination effect.
Okay, now that I've completed #6, I guess I can go do the work I was supposed to do all weekend. (sheepish grin)

Have a great week, all.
J.

You are a very impressive procrastinator. I usually procrastinate by just sitting around reading. I know. So unimaginative!

I would hardly consider that procrastination. It sounds like a very productive, busy weekend.

I love ice skating - but my ankles don't. I fall down entirely too much.

My son wanted to go skating this weekend. Sorry, babe - Mommy's still trying to recover from you dropping her on her head in KenPo class.

And yes, I AM Goofy!!!!
